The mandate was daunting: create the best place to work for approximately 4,500 employees. Wells Fargo’s desire for an inspiring, productive, innovative corporate campus was translated by our team into an open office environment with no hard-wall private offices. Conferencing and teaming areas are strategically placed adjacent to break area’s exterior views to encourage interaction away from the individual working zones. The new buildings also provide amenities including coffee shop, convenience store, fitness center, training and conference center. Sustainability was a guiding language throughout the project and is reflected in the use of natural materials sourced from central Iowa. The use of stone, wood, and warm hues creates a welcoming environment while ceiling and carpet patterns provide way finding for employees and visitors alike. The project has been a success, not only for recruitment of staff but for an established stakeholder in the growth and stability of the local community.
