Originally located in a small sliver of space near Calhoun Square in Uptown Minneapolis, Sushi Tango has become a vibrant, hip, and sexy retail icon. The new restaurant is significantly larger and features two bars in opposite corners to stimulate conversation and improve the functionality of the space. Stained concrete floors provide a contemporary, urban-loft like feel. A mix of ceramic tiles in the sushi bar and glass tiles in the entry create a juxtaposition of solid and light impressions. Light enters the back of the restaurant through bamboo and grass embedded transparent panels. The addition of hibachi tables, patio dining, live music performance space and a blended bar/dining area have contributed to the restaurant’s continued success and popularity.
