Our team, in association with design architect Michael Graves & Associates, completed a 117,000 square foot, three-story, addition to the Kenzo Tange wing. This expansion builds upon an interior renovation of the museum completed by us in 1998. Coupled with 48,000 square feet of remodeled existing space, the project increases gallery space by 40 percent. Named for its major donor, Target Corporation, the new wing contains a special reception hall, lecture hall and new facilities to house the MIA’s library, as well as its Prints and Drawings and Photography Study departments.

While we were responsible for construction documents and administration for the building shell, much of the interior work was designed as well as executed by our team. The firm was particularly involved in the renovation of the existing gallery spaces so it harmonized with the galleries of the new wing.

Over the course of our relationship with the MIA we have been responsible for nearly $60 million of construction.
