Aloft, a Starwood Hotel, wanted to expand into Arizona but also recognized the need to adapt its brand standards to accommodate Arizona’s climate and culture. Our team adapted the modernist, urban-loft prototype so it fit into the surrounding development and landscape. We sited the five-story hotel with 136 guest rooms to take full advantage of the bustling location. Large, operable windows allow guests to enjoy the temperate climate. Unlike other hotels in the chain, the Tempe hotel features an outdoor area with fountains, planters, a fireplace and pool. With this location-specific amenity, the Tempe Aloft Hotel stands apart from the rest of the portfolio. Guests appreciate the high design at an affordable price, wireless and plug-and-play access and a social atmosphere that embraces the outdoors.
